- Obituary -- Anne Marie Starr Paratore
Anne Marie Starr, born July 15, 1950 in Baltimore, Maryland to Louis and Helen Starr, passed away April 15, 2017 after a seven month battle with ovarian cancer.
Anne loved, and was loved, as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to countless others. She was respected as an exemplary teacher and role model by many more. She also was an accomplished artist and exercised that skill as a graphic artist at the Davis Enterprise in the mid 1980s. Anne touched numerous lives with her intelligence, creativity, humility, gentle kindness, compassion and understanding.
She is survived by her mother Helen, husband Tom Paratore, five sisters and brothers, daughters Scout Urling (Eric), Sarah Waite (J), stepson Michael Paratore (Michelle), six grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and countless friends and colleagues.
Anne had a great love and devotion for the children at Markham Elementary School in Vacaville where she taught for the last fifteen years until her retirement. A fund in her name for the Markham Elementary School Is being created. For those who wish to contribute, information will be posted on the Caring Bridge website caringbridge.org/visit/annestarr and will be announced at the celebration of Anne's life on June 17 from 4 to 8 pm at the Stonegate Country Club in Davis.
