- Obituary -- James Alton Crane
Funeral services were held Dec. 17 in Dade City, Fla. for James Alton Crane, 72, of Dade City and Crownsville, who died of cancer Dec. 16 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Dade City.
Mr. Crane was born Nov. 25, 1933, in East Rainelle, W.Va., the son of Dolly Mae Brown Crane Miller of Gettysburg, Pa. and the late Arnold Crane. He had been a winter resident of Dade City for the past 13 years.
He was a member of Baldwin Memorial United Methodist Church in Millersville, the First United Methodist Church in Dade City, the Dundalk Optimist Club in Baltimore, the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Forest 45, a Masonic lodge and Scottish Rite.
His interests included golf.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 52 years, Betty Jane Crane; three sons, James Arnold Crane of Lancaster, S.C., John Alton Crane of Crownsville and Walter Robert Crane of Deale; three brothers; one sister; four grandchildren; Jennifer Crane, Wesley Crane, Ashleigh Crane and Chase Crane; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services in Maryland will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City.
