- Obituary -- Howard Jink Burns
Howard J. Burns, Sr., of 2423 Washington Street East, died last night in McMillan Hospital after an extended illness.
He had retired in July as an accountant for the State Road Commission.
Mr. Burns, who came to Charleston from Greenbrier County in 1928, was a member of Bream Memorial Presbyterian Church, a past member of Masobic Lodge No. 153, AF & AM, a member of Scottish Rites bodies and Beni Kedem Shrine.
Surviving: wife, Mittie; daughters, Miss Alma Burns, and Mrs. Jean Wehrle of Charleston,; sons, James L., vice president of the Bank of West Virginia; Howard J., Jr. of Charleston; brother, S. C. Burns of Birmingham, Ala.; two grandchildren.
