One of Arthena's children wrote the following for her obituary:
"She single-handedly cared for her husband for 17 years after his debilitating stroke. Dad like to go on drives, so one of Mom's daily chores, rain or shine, was to take him on a drive. Taking care of someone who has lost almost total use of one side of the body is, at best, difficult, but trying to get this person out the door and into and out of the car every day seemed almost impossible. She was a small woman but she had a lot of will and strength and managed to get Dad somehwere almost every day (except when the snow was so deep she couldn't get out). She was his faithful nurse until the day he died. A special place in heavven must be reserved for angels like this.
"There's no place like home." Mom said this back in the spring of 2010 when she was recuperating in the hospital from her stroke. She couldn't wait to get back home. She liked to travel earlier in her life, but the last five or six years of her life she was content to remain at home.
She loved flowers and enjoyed spending time out-of-doors, but her greatest love was for her family. She touched the hearts of many and will always be remembered as loving and kind. She was a caregiver for most of her life, caring for her eight children, taking care of her elderly mother until Dad had his stroke, then taking care of Dad for almost 17 years. Mom is at last on her way to her eternal home. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. | Crane, Arthena Maxine (I391)

Reminisces of Darrin Dennis Keener - This past visit up to Pennsylvania, mom (Beverly Joan Crane) took me over to the Rohlers Church in Dover Township to see the gravesites of her grandfather (on her mother's side). Across the street from the old restored church and the old cemetery is a new cemetery and church. We found Harry's and Della's gravesites there. She did not know much about Harry. He died when she was six, I believe she remembers her grandmother much more easily. She drove me by their farm too; it's not far from the church and sits a little bit away from the Conewago. It's a beautiful area. | Crane, Harry Thomas (I1071)

Reminisces of Darrin Dennis Keener- My grandfather was in the
Navy in WWII, and he served in the Pacific. I remember my mom
(Beverly Joan Crane) telling me that he was headed home; his time wasup. On his way back, the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, so he
immediately reenlisted and went back to the Pacific.
My memories of him involved a lot of work. He always had two jobs;
mom said he was like that his entire life. During the day he worked
in a gas station in West York and in the evening he was an usher at
the Strand Capitol in downtown York when it was a movie theater.
Everywhere he went he knew someone. He was quite a talker, and always seemed larger than life to me. Constantly strong and proud, but when it came to us grandkids, he was a big pussycat. He made it seem like the world stopped for us. And for sure, he did. In conversations with my mom, she said he was always like that. She'd travel with him to West Virginia or Ohio and no matter what town they stopped in along the way, he always knew someone. | Crane, Cecil Carl (I3319)
