CRANE, Herbert Cody - 67, of Kessler, Greenbrier County, died unexpectedly yesterday while on a trip near Hines. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He was a retired coal miner. Surviving are his wife, Lottie: two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Dannek and Mrs. Beulah Gubes of New York City; three sons, Burley and Robert of Rupert, and William with the U.S. Army in Korea; five sister, Mrs. Lula Meadows, Mrs. Margie Waselchalk, Mrs. Carmie Beitz and Amy Crane of Rupert, Mrs. Prudence Piercy of Clintonville; 15 grandchildren. The body is at Wallace and Wallace mortuary in East Rainelle.

Herbert married Lorena C. SIMS on 26 Jun 1907 in Greenbrier Co., WV. (Lorena C. SIMS was born on 19 Mar 1881 in Sewell Valley, Greenbrier Co., WV,⁸⁰² died on 21 Nov 1920 in Rainelle, Greenbrier Co., WV ⁸⁰² and was buried on 22 Nov 1920 in Sewell Valley Baptist Church Cemetery, Rainelle, Greenbrier Co., WV ⁸⁰².). The cause of her death was sarcoma of thigh which was removed & one developed in stomach & liver.

Herbert next married Lottie UNDERWOOD. (Lottie UNDERWOOD was born on 7 Oct 1902 in Fayette Co., WV,⁵⁵ died on 24 Oct 1995 in Rupert, Greenbrier Co., WV ⁵⁵ and was buried in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville, Greenbrier Co., WV.)
