RUPERT, WV - Roy Lester Jones, Sr., 66, of Rupert, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014, at the Veterans Medical Center of Beckley, WV, following a long illness. Born January 4, 1948, he was the son of the late Norvie Aaron Jones, and Velma M. Price Jones of Rupert, WV. He was a heavy equipment operator and worked on strip jobs near the coal mines. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Golden Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Ann Arnold Jones of Rupert, WV; Mother: Velma Mae Jones of Rupert, WV; 1 son: Roy Lester Jones, Jr. of Roanoke, Virginia; 2 sisters: Shirley Arnold of Lewisburg, WV and Jennie Jones of Quinwood, WV; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel of Rainelle.
Burial will follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may visit with the family one
hour prior to the service (noon to 1PM) at the funeral home. Wallace & Wallace of Rainelle is in
charge of arrangements.
