JOHN L. SMITH EXPIRES AT 68
MCROSS, June 26 ? John Lewis Smith, 68-year-old retired farmer, died around three o'clock this morning at the home of a son, Wesley Smith at McRoss. Death was attributed to a heart condition following a three Week's illness. His wife, Ollie L. Smith is deceased.
Mr. Smith was a son of James and Mattie Brown Smith, and was born at Crag, where he had been engaged in farming almost his entire life. He was a member of the Little Sewell Baptist Church, of Odd Fellows Lodge 372.
Surviving are four sons, Wesley Smith, McRoss; Walter, Phoenix, Ariz.; Houston and J. L., Jr., Detroit, Mich.; also five daughters, Mrs. Wanda Hardy, Mrs. Katherine Hess, Mrs. Pansy Mitchell, Mrs. Smith, all of Detroit, Mich.
Other survivors include one brother, W. C. Smith, of Rainelle; and two sisters, Mrs. J. W. Os[borne], -----
Samples, St. Albans; fourteen grandchildren.
The body is at Nickell Mortuary where funeral arrangements are incomplete.
