Buren Harold Robinson

Rupert, WV - Buren "Harold" Robinson, 69, of Rupert, West Virginia, passed away Monday afternoon, August 4, 2014, at his home following a short illness. Born July 9, 1945 in Rainelle, WV, he was the son of the late Van Buren and Macel Day Robinson.

Harold was a retired coal miner with 32 years of service and was a proud member of the UMWA and of the Baptist faith. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved gardening, ancestry, raising honey bees and collecting all types of antiques. He enjoyed spending time on the front porch "shooting the bull" with his buddies. He was a caring man, who always provided for his family. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 49 years Eleanor "Red" Hinkle Robinson, his daughter Teresa Robinson Richmond and her husband Bill of Rupert, sons, Harold "Lee" Robinson and fiancé Letha Harper of White Sulphur Springs, Allen Robinson and wife Jessica and Billy Wayne Robinson all of Rupert. One sister, Thelma Robinson Pomeroy of Lewisburg, WV. Eleven grandchildren; Matthew and Hunter Richmond, Dylan, Alec, Jordan, Myranda, Justin, Jayden, Cierra, Lance, and Joevun Robinson. As well as nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends. Harold is also survived by his cat "Old Man/Tom Robinson". Harold was preceded in death by his brother, Teddy Wayne Robinson.

Services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, August 8, 2014 at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel in Rainelle, WV with the Rev. Troy George officiating. Burial will follow at the Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville, WV. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, evening at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be his sons, Lee, Allen and Billy Robinson, and long time friends and fellow coal miners, Robert Murphy, Orvil Spencer, and Dennis Blankenship.
