Dr. L. V. Shawver Of Corliss Dies After Long Illness
Dr. L. V. Shawver, 70, of Corliss, Fayette county, died yesterday. He had been ill since November 1935. Dr. Shawver had practiced medicine in Nuttallburg for 15 years and for two years in Corliss.
Last rites are to be held at 10:30 o'clock tomorrow morning at the Minniebelle Baptist church. The Rev. John Hollister of Barboursville is to officiate. Burial is to be in the Shawver home cemetery.
Dr. Shawver is survived by his widow, Mrs. C. F. Shawver; four sons, R. E. and L. B. Shawver of Charleston, H. E. Shawver of Corliss and W. R. Shawver of Midland, Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. J. H. Hardy of Carbondale, Mrs. V. H. Burks of Longaere and Mrs. E. W. Grafton of Fayetteville; two brothers, W. F. Shawver of Charleston and Leancy Shawver of Corliss; two sisters, Mrs. L. V. Neff of Lucasville, O., and Mrs. W. M. Harrah of Ansted.
Dr. Shawver was born in Greenbrier county February 5, 1865. He was member of the Baptist church and of the Masonic lodge No. 14 at Winona.
Laviro married Catherine Florence McCLUNG, daughter of John Alexander "John Hosey" McCLUNG and Mary Jane BURNS, on 2 Jan 1890 in Greenbrier Co., WV.26 (Catherine Florence McCLUNG was born on 4 Dec 1870 in Greenbrier Co., WV,170 died on 14 Aug 1955 in Glasgow, Kanawha Co., WV 74 and was buried on 16 Aug 1955 in Shawver Cemetery, Corliss, Fayette Co., WV 74.)
