Frances Ann Corns, 84, of Hobe Sound, Fla., passed away Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, at Martin Memorial Hospital South in Stuart, Fla.
She was a native of Charleston, W.Va., and moved to Hobe Sound, Fla., in 1979 from St. Albans, W.Va.
Prior to retirement she was a teacher's aid at Hobe Sound Elementary.
She was a member of St. Christopher's Catholic Church, Hobe Sound, Fla., where she was active in Church activities, especially Wednesday Bingo at St. Christopher's Catholic Women's League, and she was a foster grandparent.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl G. Corns Jr.; a daughter, Deborah Jean Kane; a brother, William. F. Rectenwald; and a sister, Nancy Botkin.
Survivors include sons, Richard G. Corns and his wife Sylvia of South Charleston and James E. Corns Sr. and his wife Charlene of Port Orange, Fla.; son-in-law, David Kane of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Jean Naylor of St. Albans and June Lindner of Charleston; four grandchildren, Brian, Todd, Jamie and Jennifer; and one great-grandchild, Aidan.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Christopher's Catholic Church, Hobe Sound, Fla., on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 12001 SE Federal Highway, Hobe Sound, FL, 33455.
The Young & Prill Funeral Home in Stuart, Fla., is handling the arrangements.
